CCCL celebrates graduation of 13 patients
Beirut (12-08-08) - Minister of education Mrs. Bahia Hariri
visited on Tuesday August 12 the CCCL, to celebrate the
graduation of 13 of its patients, who succeeded in their
official exams despite their illness.
Mrs. Hariri, Minister Khaled Kabbani , who also attended the
ceremony, were welcomed upon arrival by CCCL Chairman Mr.
Salim Zeenni, and board members Paul Edde, Salwa Salman,
Issam Makarem, Farouk Jabr, as well as CCCL General Manager
Camille Khalifeh, AGM Hana Choueib, Medical Director Dr.
Miguel Abboud, Deputy Medical Director Dr. Samar Mwakkit and
Director of Volunteers Mrs. Christiane Makarem, and CCCL
fundraising team.

After brief
messages from Mrs. Makarem, Dr. Fuad Ziadeh speaking on
behalf of AUBMC, and Mr. Jabr, Mr Zeenni thanked the CCCL
medical team for its efforts in curing children with cancer,
stressing that none of this was possible had it not been for
the fundraising team’s effort in providing the funds needed
to assure the treatment is provided to all patients at no
cost to the parents. He also hoped the collaboration with
AUBC and St. Jude research hospital would prosper even more,
so that one day comes when survival rates for cancer
patients reaches 100%.
In her speech, Mrs. Hariri promised the collaboration
between CCCL and the Ministry of Education will continue.
At the end, celebration was held in the CCCL outpatient
area.
