The “Children’s Cancer
Center of Lebanon” has one area of focus regarding media and
public relations. The Media Relations and Public Relations
department works with journalists to develop stories about
the hospital’s treatment and patient care, fundraising
activities, events and programs that benefit the Center.
If you are a
journalist/member of the media, please call 01 366 052, or e-mail
media relations for
assistance with a story/interview regarding:

on any of the diseases CCCL treats

Media Policy
The CCCL media policy aims to organize all media incoming
requests for covering, reporting, photographing and
videotaping news and features about the CCCL.
Please be
aware that any media inquiry has to abide by this policy.
Therefore, whenever a media request reaches CCCL, the Media
Relations and Public Relations department will assume the
media representative has read the policy and approved it.
Breaches of
this agreement may be subject to legal measures, and the
CCCL withholds the right to stop collaborating with the
Media outlet involved.
1.
Responsibility
- The
Communication Officer is the sole responsible for
managing media relations, contacting proper staff
members to be featured or interviewed as fit.
- The
Communication Officer is responsible for coordinating
with the Medical Team representative in all issue
regarding media, whether medical or not.
- Mass
Media releases include local or international TV and
radio stations, newspapers or magazines and websites
through personal, written, telephone or internet
communication.
- The
Communication Officer will be responsible of monitoring
any article, VT, feature, stand up, in TV, Radio and
Newspapers prior to broadcast/ publication, and post
broadcast/ publication.
2.Policy
- The
Communication Officer is the only person entitled to
contact the Media, and maintain coordination and
cooperation with its representatives.
- All
interviews of CCCL staff and faculty/employed physicians
by media, whether by phone, e-mail or in person, require
advance authorization from the Communications Committee,
via the Communication Officer.

Parental permission is required for videotaping,
photographing and/or interviewing patients. A Medical
Team representative will work with the media to obtain
permission on a case-by-case basis. This why processing
media request needs time.
- All
Media Outlets are required to fill a form made available
upon request or downloaded from the CCCL website:
www.cccl.org.lb

All material should be subject to monitoring by the
Communication Officer and/or Communication Committee. No
material should be allowed to go public without the CCCL
formal consent/ agreement and the approval of the Media
representative. This does not
affect the Media’s right of speech.
- Press
release or mass media interaction by telephone are to be
avoided.
Media Policy
Contacting the CCCL

As a Media
representative, you need to contact CCCL Communication
Officer, one week prior to your deadline. As stated in
the Media Policy section above, the approvals needed
take time.

The
Communication Officer will provide you with a form, by
fax or email. This forms can be downloaded from the
website www.cccl.org.lb

If your
request is approved, you will be contacted briefly.
