ST. JUDE GLOBAL ALLIANCE

CCCL is a member of the St. Jude Global Alliance, led by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which aims to improve childhood cancer care and survival rates globally by sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise.
Established in 2018, St. Jude Global works to reduce disparities and enhance survival rates for children worldwide by collaborating with medical institutions, foundations, and governments. Its approach focuses on Capacity Building, Patient-Centered Care, and Education.
As part of this alliance, CCCL gains access to advanced research, global clinical trials, and best practices, while also contributing its expertise to the international fight against childhood cancer. This partnership strengthens CCCL's role in the global pediatric oncology community and its mission to provide the best care for children with cancer.
WORLD ASSOCIATION OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORAGANIZATIONS (WANGO)

The Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) has become an active member in the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (WANGO) since 2023. WANGO, founded in 2000 by Dr. Taj Hamad and Dr. Noel Brown, serves as a vital platform for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) like CCCL to connect and collaborate on a global scale.
At CCCL, we recognize the significance of international partnerships and cooperation in furthering our mission. Joining WANGO has provided us with a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse community of NGOs, fostering knowledge sharing, resource mobilization, and capacity building. WANGO operates independently on the international stage but collaborates effectively with United Nations agencies, governmental bodies, and various international organizations to support the collective efforts of NGOs worldwide.
Our three-year commitment to WANGO aligns with our dedication to building on the organization's extensive experience in the non-governmental field. This membership enables CCCL to explore a multitude of global opportunities to form meaningful partnerships and enhance resource utilization. By leveraging the WANGO network, we aim to contribute significantly to the betterment of the journey of children with cancer, both locally and globally.

CHILDHOOD CANCER INTERNATIONAL (CCI)

In 2017, CCCL joined the membership organization Childhood Cancer International (CCI), formerly the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organizations, which was founded in 1994 as an umbrella organization of childhood cancer grassroots and national parent organizations.
Today, CCI is the largest patient support organization for childhood cancer. It is a global, parent-driven non-profit that represents 188 parent organizations, childhood cancer survivor associations, childhood cancer support groups, and cancer societies, in 96 countries, across 5 continents. Recognized worldwide as the body representing children/adolescents with cancer, childhood cancer survivors, and their families, CCI works in partnership with international development organizations, policymakers, civil society organizations, health, research, and medical professionals.
UNION FOR INTERNATIONAL CANCER CONTROL (UICC)

CCCL joined the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in 2017. The UICC is an organization dedicated to taking the lead in convening capacity building and advocacy initiatives that unite the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda. Current UICC membership comprises more than 1,000 member organizations in 162 countries and continues to grow, all sharing a passion to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease for future generations.
In October 2018, CCCL participated in the UICC World Cancer Congress held in Kuala Lumpur where institutions got the chance to apply to different awards one of which is the UICC Fundraising Award. CCCL nominated its “Light a Candle” project which was successfully selected as one of three finalists, a great accomplishment achieved thanks to the trust of touch in CCCL’s mission and the innovation of this unprecedented fundraising idea.
In 2020, CCCL General Manager Mrs. Hana Chaar Choueib, was elected UICC board member representing the Eastern Mediterranean Region; emphasizing the CCCL’s commitment to advocacy benefiting childhood cancer control regionally and globally.
UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT NETWORK LEBANON

In 2018, CCCL joined the UN Global Compact Network of Lebanon, which convenes to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) in our country.The United Nation Global Compact Network (UNGCN) is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Its aim is to join the world’s top business leaders and governments in lifting the poorest nations out of poverty by adopting a more responsible and sustainable approach to business.
In September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a plan called “Agenda 2030” for Sustainable Development to transform the world with a motto to “leave no one behind”. To be able to transform our world and ensure sustainable development, this plan has identified 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which governments and governing bodies can adapt to ensure the UN Agenda 2030 is achievable.
CCCL has mapped its services and operations to the following 5 UN SDGs, which emphasizes its leading position in sustainable development regionally and globally:
CCCL integrates these SDGs into actions within its operating system, similar to other UNGCN members who have aligned their operations, services and mandates to align with these goals, and report on them yearly.
WORLD PATIENTS ALLIANCE (WPA)

CCCL joined the World Patients Alliance (WPA) in 2021. WPA is the umbrella organization of patients and patients’ organizations around the globe. The WPA seeks to ensure that all patients have access to safe, high quality, and affordable healthcare everywhere in the world.
More than 100 patients group across 38 countries form the WPA, which was founded in September 2020.
The WPA unites advocates across borders and diseases and joins efforts to help patients make their voices heard and promote policies that will improve their quality of life and access to treatments through organizing webinars and educational programs.
