With the aim of securing more funds for the treatment of kids with cancer at the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), CCCL UK was incorporated in September 2014 and was registered as a charity in June 2015 and relies fully on donations to fulfil its mission.
Established in 2014, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon UK supports the CCCL in treating kids with cancer from Lebanon and the whole Arab region.
CCCL UK is registered in England and Wales under Charity Number 1161911.
Our Beneficiary
The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is a leading national organization dedicated to the treatment and support of kids and adolescents with cancer, in addition to being a national advocate of childhood cancer control and leading NGO in Lebanon and the region.
Inaugurated in 2002, CCCL supports almost 60% of children with cancer in Lebanon (including non-Lebanese coming from the Arab region and refugees), with ages ranging between a few months old up to 18 years.
CCCL works in partnership with hospitals and medical centers across the country, and covers all treatment costs of patients without any discrimination, even costs beyond those covered by third-party payers. CCCL also ensures quality service to patients in accordance with global standards, exceeding an 80% average cure rate, similar to that of developed countries.
As a national advocate of childhood cancer control, CCCL promotes awareness and education about childhood cancer.CCCL is only dependent on donations with a yearly need exceeding 15 million USD to fulfill its mission.
History
It always requires passion to reach success which takes things to better places in life. The founding members of the Children’s Cancer Centre of Lebanon UK (CCCL UK) each have history in advocating for this cause, and thus in spreading awareness about childhood cancer all around the world, so they sought to take the mission to different parts of the world, and this is how the idea of establishing a UK based charity came to light in order to help provide the best care to childhood cancer patients from Lebanon.
A committee was formed and several visits to London were made to assess the opportunity to establish a charity in the UK to serve and support childhood cancer patients.
After thorough study, it was decided to have the Children’s Cancer Centre of Lebanon UK as a UK registered Charity. CCCL UK came to light and was inaugurated in October 2014 and was registered in June 2015 under Charity Number 1161911 and relies fully on donations to fulfill its mission.
