CCCL Honors the Life and Legacy of President Joseph Asseily

From the very beginning, since the negotiations started to establish the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), Mr. Joseph Asseily was there; he believed, similarly to Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, that no Child Should die in the Dawn of Life and that the children in Lebanon shall receive free access to treatment from cancer, and a future filled with hope and health.

A founding pillar since 2002, and later the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Asseily devoted his life to turning that vision into reality. His leadership was defined by humility, compassion, and unwavering faith in CCCL’s mission.

As President over the past three years (2023-2025), he guided the center with quiet strength and a deep belief in the power of good. Under his care, CCCL grew beyond its walls, reaching more children, inspiring more hearts, and spreading hope across Lebanon and beyond.

To those who had the privilege of knowing him, Mr. Asseily was more than a leader, he was a mentor, a friend, and a symbol of grace. His kindness touched everyone, from patients and survivors to staff and partners, leaving behind an imprint of genuine humanity.

Though his passing brings immense sorrow, his light will forever shine through every child’s smile and every life saved.

Thank you, Mr. Asseily, for your faith, your heart, and your lifelong belief in hope. Your legacy will continue to guide us always. 🤍
