The team arrived with nearly €20,000 worth of medical supplies, oxygen equipment, school materials, and superhero themed toys chosen to bring moments of joy to children receiving treatment.
Coming all the way from Bolzano to Beirut, the LuceMia team hoped to offer more than assistance. As journalist Martina Capovin from Il Dolomiti shared, the children’s excitement was instant when they met their “superheroes.” One little boy even told Batman, “Don’t worry, at home we have food for everyone.” Simple moments like this captured the warmth and humanity behind the visit.
CCCL expressed sincere gratitude for this initiative. Speaking on behalf of the Center, Imad El Hajje shared that the gesture “means much more than they might imagine,” highlighting how solidarity can truly rise above borders and differences.
Echoing this feeling, Colonel Vittorio Gisonni, commander of MIBIL, said:
“Siamo orgogliosi… non come militari, ma come esseri umani… insieme possiamo cambiare qualcosa.”
“We are proud, not as soldiers but as human beings. Together we can change something.”
Luca Randi, brother of Laura, shared that the visit helped bring to life Laura’s dream of sharing real-life heroes with children during their toughest days.
This beautiful collaboration reflects CCCL’s mission to offer care, dignity, and hope to every child. It also reminds us how meaningful partnerships and acts of kindness can be in supporting their healing journey.
