More than 550 guests from the Lebanese and Arab community gathered to stand with children facing cancer in Lebanon and to help secure the free, life-saving treatment CCCL provides.
Lebanon’s Ambassador to the UAE, Tarek Mneymneh, addressed the audience with a message of gratitude and resilience. He described CCCL as a true point of light during Lebanon’s ongoing challenges and thanked the United Arab Emirates for its continuous support to Lebanese families. He emphasized that the mission of caring for children with cancer reflects the real spirit of Lebanon: compassion, courage and unwavering hope. He reminded attendees that their support sends a powerful message that Lebanon’s children are never alone.
CCCL Acting Chairman Dr. Cesar Bassim honored the memory of the late Joseph Asseily, co-founder of the Center, whose legacy continues to shape its mission. He also announced that former Chairman Salim El Zaany will return to the role in January 2026. Dr. Bassim highlighted the Center’s impact over the past two decades. Since 2002, CCCL has provided free and comprehensive cancer treatment to more than 5,500 children from Lebanon and the region, achieving survival rates above 80 percent and following the highest global medical standards. He stressed that this work is only possible thanks to the generosity of donors and partners in Lebanon and abroad.
The evening also featured a moving testimony from Dana, a two-time cancer survivor who shared her inspiring journey and reminded the audience that every contribution gives a child hope, strength, and a chance for a healthy future. A charity art auction led by Christie’s added to the spirit of generosity, showcasing remarkable artworks by regional artists including Noor Al Suwaidi, Rania Kamel, Ihab Ahmed, Ghazi Baker, Misak Terzian, Betty Yaghi, and Lina Husseini, as well as a gold and diamond ring by Antoine Walid Salamoun. During the symbolic “Light the Cedar” moment, each donation illuminated a part of Lebanon’s iconic cedar tree, visually transforming generosity into a beacon of hope. The evening continued with special performances by DJ Rodge, Maya Diab, and Michel Fadel, creating an atmosphere filled with optimism, unity, and heartfelt commitment to children battling cancer.
The Dubai gala once again demonstrated the power of community and the importance of coming together to protect the lives of children fighting cancer in Lebanon. CCCL relies entirely on donations to continue offering free treatment to every child in need. Your support can help save a life. Donate today and give a child the chance to heal and thrive.
