The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) proudly shares the inspiring experience of survivor Bashar and his mother during their participation in an international childhood cancer survivors event organized by LÖSEV in Turkey from May 11 to May 16 2026. 

In recent months, many questions have circulated about a possible link between childhood cancer and vaccines. Here, I aim to address some of these concerns in a clear and simple way, so we can work together to untangle this complex issue.

On 17 November 2025, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) warmly welcomed the Italian NGO LuceMia, Il sorriso di Laura Randi, for a heartfelt visit supported by Italy’s bilateral military mission in Lebanon (MIBIL).

The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon proudly took part in the World Cancer Congress, Summit & Exhibition 2025, beginning with the Pre-Congress Workshop held in Doha on November 1–2, organized by the Qatar Cancer Society and the Oman Cancer Association, and continuing in Muscat, Oman, from November 3–6.

From the very beginning, since the negotiations started to establish the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), Mr. Joseph Asseily was there; he believed, similarly to Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, that no Child Should die in the Dawn of Life and that the children in Lebanon shall receive free access to treatment from cancer, and a future filled with hope and health.

From October 19 to 24, 2025, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) participated in the CCI Annual International Conference 2025, which brought together childhood cancer organizations and experts from around the world. 

The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is proud to announce the appointment of Manal Azhari, Director of Employee Experience and Operations, as a Foundation Standing Member of St. Jude Global’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Advisory Committee (EM RAC).

On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, which is commemorated every year on February 15, Lebanon’s First Lady Mrs. Nehmat Aoun visited the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL).

The Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) delegation, led by Chairman Mr. Joseph Asseily, had the honor of meeting Lebanon’s First Lady,  Mrs. Neemat Aoun, at the Presidential Palace, to congratulate her on this new chapter.

The first UICC Board meeting of 2025 took place in Geneva, Switzerland, bringing together board members from 14 countries to discuss global cancer priorities and explore new ways to address the needs of people living with cancer worldwide.

In the midst of these challenging times, we are proud to share a significant message of hope for our community. Our CCCL General Manager, Mrs. Hana Chaar Choueib, has been re-elected as a UICC Board Member for the next two years!

As a proud member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), CCCL had the distinct honor of attending the World Cancer Congress (WCC) held in Geneva, September 2024. This global event gathers leaders, professionals, and experts in the field of oncology, united by a shared commitment to advancing the fight against cancer.
