CCCL is a regional center pioneering in the treatment of children with cancer. CCCL is indeed a nonprofit association that gives access to the treatment of children with cancer, working in close coordination with St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (SJCRH) in Memphis, Tennessee, and the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). In 2020, CCCL has extended its services over the Lebanese territory and collaborated with other 10 hospitals all over Lebanon.
Children at CCCL are treated free of charge, with no cost at all to their parents. Therefore, CCCL relies purely on donations, with a yearly need of 15 million USD. Children at CCCL are admitted regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, religion, or nationality, where their treatment requires advanced facilities with cutting-edge technology and expertise in various modalities of treatment: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, stem cell transplantation, and supportive care. All patients referred to CCCL are offered thorough diagnostic tests and admitted based on our admission policy. We admit most of the new patients every year and all others are referred to other hospitals whenever CCCL has budget and space limitations.
Inaugurated in April 2002, CCCL treated, to date, more than 5,000 children with cancer, and more than 6,000 consultations were provided to patients referred from Lebanon and the region. The treatment usually lasts for 3 years, costing an average ranging between 40,000 USD and 200,000 USD depending on the case.CCCL has a variety of fundraising programs and projects all for the sole purpose of raising funds to treat our dear patients. The average cure rate for our patients at CCCL is an amazing 80%, which means that our mission is one of hope and a healthy future for our dear children.
CCCL holds an ISO 9001:2015 accreditation since 2009 for Quality Management, assessed by the British Standards Institute.
