On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) held its annual “Path of Joy” celebration at the American University of Beirut, honoring 16 of its patients who successfully passed their official exams this year.

The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Rakan Nasser El Din, Minister of Public Health; H.E. Rima Karami, Minister of Education and Higher Education; H.E. Hanin Al-Sayyed, Minister of Social Affairs; and H.E. Dr. Mohammad Haidar, Minister of Labor, along with Rita Roumi, Program Director at Radio Lebanon, representing the Minister of Information Dr. Paul Morcos. Along with CCCL Chairman Mr. Joseph Assily, Board members Mrs. Asmahan Zein, Mrs. Mona Saidawi, and Mrs. Lara Debs, Medical Director Dr. Miguel Abboud, the medical and administrative teams, and families of patients and survivors.
Speakers highlighted the importance of hope and determination in overcoming illness, praising the children’s ability to transform challenges into achievements. The Chairman emphasized the center’s commitment to providing free, world-class treatment despite inflation and medicine shortages, with ongoing support from volunteers and local and international partners.
During the celebration, Dr. Miguel Abboud presented the Family Award to the family of Marc Kiyame, recognizing their exceptional collaboration with the medical and nursing teams and their dedication to caring for their child, an inspiring example of turning treatment into a journey of support and positivity.
Patients and survivors showcased their musical and artistic talents during the event, as well as an exhibition of children’s artwork, and concluded with the distribution of certificates to the students. A moment of joy and accomplishment that reflected the center’s mission to transform pain into hope and instill the values of life, resilience, and giving.
