Presented every two years, the award recognises UICC members whose initiatives bring the World Cancer Day campaign’s theme and message to life. This year’s edition celebrated initiatives advancing awareness, community engagement and people-centred cancer care under the theme “United by Unique.”
CCCL was recognised for transforming World Cancer Day into a national platform for advocacy and dialogue on childhood cancer. Bringing together government leaders, the World Health Organization, healthcare professionals, people with lived experience and families, the campaign placed personal experiences at the heart of the conversation.
Through this initiative, CCCL highlighted the importance of care that responds to each child’s needs and each family’s experience, while strengthening awareness and support for children affected by cancer.
The award’s first place went to Nigeria’s Engraced Life Foundation for its “PinkRoom Schools Outreach” campaign, while The Brunei Cancer Centre earned second place for “Bringing Together the Cancer Care Community Through Arts.”
This international recognition reflects the collective efforts of everyone who contributed to CCCL’s campaign. It reinforces our commitment to ensuring that children and families are heard, supported and placed at the centre of cancer care.
